Q. when i attempt to stop smoking I have terrible withdrawls N depression N my stomach shakes I;ve used every on the market,I gain alot of weight,I'm notan eater, matabolism i think the thought of quitting again seems like so MUCH work again
A. Please don’t give up trying to stop smoking – if you contact the NHS Stop Smoking Service helpline on 0845 6013116 they will be able to discuss the various options of support available to you. You will be supported to make an ‘action plan’ to help with your quit attempt i.e. discuss ways to help you deal with the ‘triggers’ i.e. when around family and friends who smoke, times during the day you usually have a cigarette and most importantly ensure you are prescribed the most appropriate nicotine replacement therapy products to alleviate nicotine withdrawal symptoms. You may also have the opportunity to discuss any healthy eating issues you have too… Most importantly please contact the NHS Stop Smoking Service before you stop smoking – planning your quit attempt with lots of support will result in you being 4 times more likely to be successful in becoming ‘smokefree’ rather than going it alone ….. Good luck – YOU can do it !!
