Q. how does smoking efect ur gums and teeth
A. We all have bacteria in the mouth - bad bacteria from food and drink and good bacteria to fight the bad, similar to the bacteria we have in our tummies to keep us healthy - smoking changes the levels of bacteria and reduces oxygen within the mouth causing receding gums which can long term lead to tooth loss smoking also causes yellowing of the teeth and potentially mouth cancer's We recommend you have regular check ups at the dentist. When you stop smoking the bacteria levels return to 'normal' over time but you may find you get mouth ulcers when this happens - brush regularly and use mouthwash if this happens - seek advice if the ulcers to not go after a few weeks.
