Q. how much time does the lungs need to get rid of the smoke inhaled by from one ciggarette?
A. Carbon monoxide from a cigarette is out of the lungs within 24 hours but the chemicals creating tar can stay there for much longer - effects of smoking can take hold over time and cause long term illnesses
