| Young people are curious about life beyond what they know or have been taught. They thrive on hunting out extreme experiences. They want to find out and experience unknown ´highs´. This can be coupled with boredom and a varying degree of rebellion. If this sounds like you, read on. All these can be turned around to be positive elements within yourself. You like to be active, challenged, and given opportunity to go beyond your limitations. It gives you a sense of achievement and self worth, and enables you to discover who you are in the wider context of life. All activity is of value, and will be provided in your area. This can include, sports, even extreme sports, outward bound expeditions and adventure type holidays, but it can also include the more sedentary hobbies - video making, craft work and so on. There are youth clubs, scout/guide groups etc across the county. Find something you like and go for it. If it looks too expensive, don´t despair; speak with an adult you trust to see if the fee can be reduced or waived, perhaps you can pay in instalments. Rebellion is a wonderful store of energy. Correctly channelled, these feelings within yourself can be transformed into something very positive. There are adults out there who are willing to give you space to use your initiative and support you in your ideas. This is a two-way process. Give these adults a chance and yourself a chance to do something worthwhile. |
