Parents are a different problem altogether. If you have parents or guardians who use illegal drugs or solvents then this is the page for you.

First of all, in case you are feeling embarrassed, don´t. There are plenty of people out there in the same situation. Why do you think this section is on this website? Just for you? Not at all. Lots of people need support for this very reason. And the good news is there are people out there who can and will help you.

Perhaps you have been too frightened or ashamed to look for it. But not any longer. You can look on the helplines/advice section of this site, where there are many numbers you can ´phone, or you can ask any questions you want to on the interactive questions area of this site.

There are certain things you should perhaps know that may help put your mind at rest:
  • counselling agencies work within confidential guidelines. You can check out what these are by calling any of the numbers on our site.
  • Many helpline phone numbers do not list as what they actually are on the phone bill
  • If social services or other related agencies become involved in your situation, this does not mean that you will automatically be taken into care.

You may be able to think of certain adults that you feel comfortable with and feel you could trust. Perhaps a favourite teacher, or youth worker, maybe a relative or family friend. You could risk trusting them to help you find support.

Finally, it is important that you keep yourself in a safe situation. If you feel you, or your brothers and sisters are at risk in any way, then don´t be afraid to go and find help. You are not alone. Many people have these problems and there are people out there who can help.

Good luck.
