Persistent alcohol problems double the risk of divorce or separation
This
is the most dangerous stage of alcohol withdrawal.
About 5% of people withdrawing from alcohol experience
this. This condition occurs about 2-3 days after
drinking stops. It begins with profound
confusion, and is accompanied by agitation,
delusions, sweating, hallucinations, rapid heart
rate and high blood pressure.
This is a true emergency and death will occur in
about 35% of these people if they do not receive
emergency treatment.
