· Alcohol gets into the bloodstream within a few minutes of being taken, and quickly reaches all parts of the body including the brain. Because of how it works on the brain, it can cause extreme mood swings and emotional outbursts.

· Many people become aggressive and violent under the influence of alcohol. Some people become very depressed. It is important to note here that alcohol doesn’t necessarily improve your mood and make you feel better. If your mood is low or angry before you have a drink, this can simply worsen under the influence of alcohol. Then, because your inhibitions are low and your judgement impaired, you may easily do things you will regret. Deal with the underlying problems, rather than trying to blot them out with alcohol.
